Hello, Believe it or not, only the Holy Spirit can teach you how to dwell with your own wife with understanding. Start from this premise: 2 selfish people cannot build happiness together. Ask Him to reveal the selfishness in you first. As you submit to His dealings with you, He'll also work on your wifey. Ask Him to apply Matt. 5-7 in your own life. It's not how long but how well. From a happily married wife of 15 years.

Bro Dami, you are a man. You know how to treat yourself (your wife) The bible says husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself for the church. The question should be how does Christ love the church? Can you measure the depth of His love? Who can actually measure the depth of Christ love for the church??? Why do you bring up the issue of your wife not going through what PA went through? Have you followed the route? Is it now a trend in CE? Many people read the bible in parts and conclude. In Malachi 2:16 they read only the first part that God hates divorce and then they stop there and begin to deceive the congregation. But read the whole verse very well and you would understand. No one could be a true Christian and engage in months/years/decades of coercive control and cruelty towards their spouse. Such conducts are anathema to Christ. If someone were a true Christian they would have a tender heart not a stony heart. The believing spouse of the so called 'Christian' abuser has in fact been married to a spouse who is not a Christian. Many people hide under the guise of being a Christian but by their conduct and evil manipulations they are not Christians. Be not be deceived. Mathew 7:22. This is where 1 Cor 7:15 comes in as the spouse has been married to an unbeliever all along. In the Greek text the word 'depart' means to separate. When a marriage continues in bullying, violence, abuse, torture and intimidation then they have to separate. They are not bound to stay together as the evil character of the unbeliever can rob off on the Christian spouse who can miss heaven. However, the bible say that when a woman divorce she should remain unmarried. 1 Cor 7:10. But if violence, abuse, etc does not exist then there should be no divorce unless there is a strong proof of infidelity. Mathew 5:32. May the spirit of God guide you when reading this.

What baffles me about this blog is how PA remains unthreatened, unperturbed & unwavering about people's contrary opinions. Ma, you're just so adorable!!! When you walk in truth, you will have no fear and NO INSECURITY. That's the true demonstration of strength and wisdom.
